My only son is in college now and there are days when the walls seem to reverberate with stillness. But I know my son is in God’s perfect will. His college life, with all it’s trials and strains, is perfect for him. I cannot mourn the work of God.

So every morning I ask the Lord to guide my steps. Some days a hurting friend just needs to talk. Some days I can minister to a neighbor. Some days I volunteer at church. Some days my husband needs an extra hug and a special dessert. I’ll be starting a job soon and probably will miss the quiet house. But I know God has another step for me for take. He guided all of us through home schooling and He will continue to guide us into the next big adventure of our lives as we "Trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not to our own understanding." Be encouraged and look to God.

I love Kim's version - the electric guitar harmonization is sweet. It's now one of my favorite worship songs. Just posted it on my blog as a matter of fact! :)

This is very encouraging to me right now. I've been in a time of "stretching" and "way-out-of-my-comfort-zone" expansion in a lot of areas of life and ministry . . . but I'm believing that it's all for God's best and His good.

Thanks so much for this article!

We make smores in the oven. :)

What is sad is that so much of childhood has been replaced with television and video games. I've been telling my children stories from my childhood recently, and it struck me how little some children will have to tell their children.

Unless you include high scores on Mario Brothers.

I appreciate your enthusiasm. I wondered if I was being too strong! I can certainly get on a soap box. Living inside the homeschool community for 20 years, you learn this is not a popular outlook...but I feel, like you, it's one that needs to be discussed and represented.

I am standing up and applauding you even as I read!

You are speaking to one of the issues that I believe is plaguing the homeschool world one conference at a time. When the views you alluded to are taught as "presuppositional" or part of the "grand sweep of revelation" (those are quotes!) then many moms are led down the primrose path and away from building genuine, godly relationships both with the Lord and with their husband and children.

Thanks for your boldness and transparency and blessings on you today!
